What is the purpose of this intervention?

What are the remaining scars?

This patient asked for advice about the surgery of the silhouette as a result of weight loss of 45 kg after a by-pass. She didn’t have any special conclusion of an anamnesis before and she never gave birth. Her request referred exclusively to the abdomen and buttocks. The patient complained of a flabby abdominal appearance and sagging buttocks. The patient would like to have a flat smooth abdomen and less flaccid buttocks.
At examination in the patient it was not revealed neither an abdominal apron nor fatty deposits. The skin of the abdominal region and laterally completely sagged, with almost complete loss of elasticity responsible for the folded appearance of the abdominal wall. Examination of the buttocks revealed a significant melting of their volume along with the appearance of a surplus of skin predominantly in the upper part of the buttock area. Examination of the abdominal muscles did not reveal any abnormality such as diastase of abdominal muscles or abdominal hernia.
This patient was made body lift consisting in removing excess skin around the circumference and restoring the roundness of the buttocks with the help of a double skin fat flap. This intervention allowed the patient to find a flat and elastic stomach, to give roundness to the buttocks with an improvement in the shape of the figure, both in the forward side and also in the supine.
